Success At Tate Modern
So proud of three artists from Waltham Forest Disability Resource Centre exhibited at the Tate Modern. Funmi, Pedro and Aftab created 3 of the 15 winning artworks on view at the Tate Modern, at the One Planet One Chance Exhibition on 26th July 2023. Special congratulations to our incredibly talented Funmi for being awarded the top Judge's Choice prize. Organised by the amazing Uniting Friends in conjunction with Tate Modern, the exhibition gave a view of climate change through the eyes of disabled and older people.
A huge thank you to Leytonstone’s Filly Brook restaurant for hosting our Belonging art exhibition on Saturday 29th July. The exhibition showcased individual and group artworks produced by disabled artists at the Waltham Forest Disability Resource Centre, during a 10 week mixed media course. Funded by a LBWF Community Chest grant and taught by Lucy Tate of United Arts, the course created a space for people to explore the theme of “belonging” while learning new art techniques including print making, painting, photography and collage.
